By funding the provision of public goods through capturing increases in the value of land, areas that are less economically prosperous are in effect provided with subsidies in the form of lower taxes, providing incentives for investment.

Enterprise is encouraged as a shift in the tax burden from capital and labour to land makes growth investment in capital and labour more profitable.
