Ficino

The Henry George Foundation of Great Britain

is pleased to extend an invitation to a meeting to consider

Ficino’s posthumous influences:

how classical philosophy gained momentum

among the ruling elite in Europe

with

Adrian Bertoluzzi

This is a complimentary talk in the present series of study sessions on the Laws of Plato and George’s insights into natural law in the government of society. In his talk Adrian will consider how Princes and Rulers across Europe were influenced by the examples of virtuous living expressed in classical philosophy and, in particular, Ficino’s role in the dissemination of Platonic philosophy; how the ideas were spread in the writings of leading scholars during the Reformation.

This talk will be self-contained and is not limited to those who are currently attending the series.

Friday 22nd November 2013

6.40pm – 8.10 pm
