Who was Henry George?
Henry George was a ‘pamphleteer’ or political activist, who was active around the turn of the last century. He published a number of books including the seminal ‘Progress and Poverty’, (1879) in which he outlined his ideas for social progress, and the elimination of poverty.
His writings have had a lasting impact on political and economic thought, and are held by many to provide solutions to many of the world’s current travails.
